Columbus, OH. June 25, 2020 – Slalom, the $1.6B modern consulting firm focused on strategy, technology, and business transformation, is open in the Columbus area. Slalom will employ roughly 400 people around the Ohio region over the next 5 years.
“We are excited to welcome Slalom to Ohio and are grateful for their commitment to bring hundreds of new jobs to our state,” said Lt. Gov. Jon Husted. “Ohio is one of the most diverse economies in the country, and our state is rightfully becoming known as the most innovative, creative, and entrepreneurial state in the Midwest. It is no surprise that individuals and businesses are choosing to make Ohio their home.”
Columbus is gaining national recognition, ranking as America’s best city for tech jobs and top ten for corporate investment and corporate HQ leaders. In July 2019, the Columbus City Council granted incentives for more than $500M in downtown development in order to bring much-needed additional housing and office space to the area.
“Even though we are only opening our digital doors during COVID-19, we are still excited about everything Columbus has to offer. This city feels like a small town where relationships matter and can be a significant enabler to Columbus’ business communities,” said Channie Mize, Slalom Columbus General Manager. “There’s tremendous opportunity here in Columbus. That’s why we’re planning to build, not just for the next five to ten years, but for 20 plus years into the future.”
For Slalom, Columbus offers a broad range of client prospects and organizations, including 15 Fortune 1000 companies, the state government, and more than 50 college campuses in the region, making it one of the most educated workforces in the country.
“Ohio is pleased to welcome Slalom and the hundreds of jobs the firm will bring to our state,” said Kenny McDonald, President and Chief Executive Officer of One Columbus. “With robust education, finance, retail, and healthcare industries, the Columbus Region is a top place in the country for entrepreneurs and tech talent, and we’re excited to have Slalom here to continue that positive momentum.”
