Columbus, OH – January 4, 2021 – Nursing students have had numerous disruptions to their learning environment due to COVID-19, but Chamberlain University’s recent relocation to a new facility has helped move students forward toward their degree during this unprecedented time.
Chamberlain University’s Columbus campus is proud to announce their relocation to 4111 Worth Avenue in Easton. Through the pandemic, while classes have remained virtual, students have been able to safely take advantage of the new facility in a variety of ways. Nursing labs allow students to work in individual bays taking care of mannequin patients where they safely practice clinical skills such as completing head-to-toe assessments and learning sterile techniques. They also participate in simulated clinical work in the SIMCARE CENTER™, which replicates the hospital setting. Here, the mannequin and simulated patient monitor that displays vital signs, provide students the opportunity to properly assess and treat patients. This capability was of utmost importance as students were able to practice their skills in the lab before returning to hospitals in July to take care of patients as part of their clinical experience.
The new location offers students and staff many benefits such as a state-of-the art learning center with an adjacent outdoor terrace, small technologically advanced classrooms, covered parking, easy access to public transportation, and great housing options near campus. This location also offers fine dining, shopping, and entertainment options within walking distance from the campus, which will be beneficial upon Chamberlain’s return to normal operations.
Campus President Judith Kimchi-Woods said, “The health and safety of our Chamberlain community is a main priority. As we monitor the public health situation, we are hopeful that we will move back to campus learning soon.” She continued, “We look forward to continuing to provide the support our students need to step forward and make a difference in healthcare.”
