Provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services

It’s challenging for corporations and municipalities to attract new talent and residents from other areas, because the people they’d like to attract are unfamiliar with the area, don’t know what it has to offer, and don’t know anyone there. Neighborhood Pal’s web and mobile platform addresses this problem by providing virtual mini-tours of neighborhoods, schools, businesses, recreation, and other points of interest, with each tour created by a local. Not only does this give the potential new resident a feel for the area, it’s also a great way for them to connect with the people who created the tours: small business owners, community leaders, realtors, and other residents.

Neighborhood Pal gives people relocating to a new area the ability to explore and discover a community and neighborhood they love, and get to know some of the locals who live and work there, even before they arrive.

Tell us about your company’s mission and values

We know that relocation is difficult for everybody — the people relocating, the corporations attracting new talent and the business owners who want to connect with newcomers. Our mission is to make it easier for everyone.

In pursuit of our mission, we value passion, persistence, teamwork and trust because we care about communities and want to support municipalities, their merchants and corporations.

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?

The services that we most look forward to using are those that enable us to connect with local merchants who can benefit from capturing the additional business newcomers generate. In turn, this would ultimately improve and grow the Columbus business ecosystem.

We also look forward to contributing to the various newsletters including Workforce, Thrive newsletter, and the Weekly digest.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?

Staying up to date on industry trends is crucial. Industry Relocation Organizations such as Worldwide ERC help us stay in the know regarding industry news and updates. Additionally conferences like Inman Connect and SHRM (Society for Human Resources Management) are great ways to stay informed. We also stay connected on a regular basis with people in the industry. We believe that’s one of the best ways to stay informed in regards to industry trends.

What is your company culture like?

We believe in giving staff the opportunity to take ownership of their role and be able to impact the trajectory of our vision and strategy. Our goal is to create a culture of compassion. We’re confident that this is an important ingredient to a happy work environment. It also means we are more likely to make a difference in the lives of our partners and the customers we serve. It is indeed possible to build a business, help people, and enjoy our work.

What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?

A successful employee not only has a healthy work ethic and the conviction that teamwork makes the dream work, they also have a passion and desire to show others what Columbus has to offer.

What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?

When making the decision regarding which geographic region to launch our product, we looked for
A vibrant business community that is trying to attract new residents and talent.
A city with welcoming locals, chamber and business community.
Affordability and a quality of life — a great place to live.
A community that likes to be on the leading edge of new technology.
A region that has room to grow — for both businesses and the overall population.

What’s new about what we offer?

We provide tours of  neighborhoods, communities and points of interest, which can be found on no other platform. NeighborhoodPal  complements other platforms that provide tours of individual houses.

Our platform  has content created by multiple neighborhood consultants. This not only gives the relocating individual the ability to explore and select the consultants they prefer, it also gives them different perspectives.

What’s new for merchants is we give them the ability to showcase their businesses and connect with potential customers even before they set foot in the area.

Very importantly, in this age of pandemics we provide a safe alternative that allows for remote/virtual neighborhood discovery.
