Columbus, OH – February 8, 2021 – Anderson Concrete Corporation, one of the oldest and largest ready-mix concrete companies in Ohio, is appointing its first female president, Jessica Anderson. She is the fifth president in the company’s 100-year history – a centennial milestone that Anderson Concrete celebrates this year.

Jessica Anderson is a fourth-generation owner of the family business and brings 20 years of experience. In 2001, she started in the accounting department of Anderson Concrete’s sister company, Buckeye Ready-Mix, and was promoted to her most recent role as treasurer of ALD Precast in 2006. In addition, she also has served as treasurer of the Columbus Bituminous Concrete Corp. since 2010.
“I am extremely honored to be taking on this new role,” Jessica Anderson said. “While it is a huge responsibility and one that I do not take lightly, I am very proud to follow in my family’s footsteps at Anderson Concrete.”

Anderson succeeds her cousin, Doug Anderson, who has served as president of Anderson Concrete since 2002. Doug Anderson will transition to the chief executive officer of Anderson Concrete.
“Jessica will do a fantastic job as president,” Doug Anderson said. “She is experienced, well-respected in our industry, and the right choice to lead in our family business. I look forward to working with her in my new role.”

As past president of the Ohio Concrete Association’s young professionals’ group, Concrete Futures, and current treasurer of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Central Ohio Chapter, Jessica Anderson is an industry leader, paving the way for female professionals to thrive in a male-dominated industry. She is a member of the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO) Columbus Chapter II and member of the Conway Center for Family Business, where she contributes to peer groups focusing on women in business, next generation leadership, and succession planning.

“There were never any barriers for me as a woman at Anderson Concrete,” she said. “Inclusion has always been a value, and it’s one of the reasons I’m here. I’m so proud of my family and team members for walking the talk.”

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hanover College with a major in economics and a minor in business management. She earned her Master of Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University. She also completed the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio’s Rising Leaders Institute, an affiliate program of The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business.

As she celebrates Anderson Concrete’s centennial anniversary with family, employees and friends, she remains grateful for the legacy she is privileged to carry forth.

“I love this company, and the industry as a whole because of the people who work in it. For the past 20 years, I have been most impressed with the hard work and commitment that my coworkers and business associates put forth every single day,” she said. “I would like to thank every employee and retiree for their dedication to the success of Anderson Concrete over the past 100 years, and I look forward to building the next century of the company together.”
