Jenkins is first in Ohio and 10th in the U.S. to receive the Concrete Quality Technical Manager certification by the American Concrete Institute
Columbus, OH – May 5, 2021 – Anderson Concrete Corporation, one of the oldest and largest ready-mix concrete companies in Ohio, has named Rod Jenkins to company vice president of production.
“Rod knows Anderson Concrete inside and out. He has worked in various roles within our company for more than 20 years and will be a tremendous asset in his new leadership role,” said Jessica Anderson, Anderson Concrete’s newly appointed president.
Since 2012, Jenkins has served as the company’s quality control manager. Previously, he wore many hats within the organization. He began as a driver in 1998 and soon moved to the plant department where he climbed the ranks from plant laborer and plant operator to plant lead in 1999. In 2003, Jenkins moved into quality control as a field representative and was eventually appointed to his most recent role as quality control manager at Anderson Concrete.
In addition, Jenkins has obtained several certifications during his tenure at Anderson Concrete. He is a National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) Certified Concrete Technologist, Level 3, and most recently obtained certification as a Concrete Quality Technical Manager from the American Concrete Institute (ACI). He is the first in Ohio and only one in 10 in the U.S. to receive this prestigious recognition. This elite certification is one of the more rigorous ACI examinations with more pre-requisites necessitated prior to testing.
This certification demonstrates an individual has the knowledge and experience necessary to supervise an effective concrete quality control/quality assurance program and perform duties on behalf of the architect/engineer in technical matters pertaining to the concrete used in a project. Jenkins also studied applied mathematics at Wright State University and The Ohio State University where he met his wife Linda. Currently, they reside in Hilliard, Ohio with their four children.
“This year marks Anderson Concrete’s 100th anniversary celebration. I can’t think of a better time to transition to vice president of production,” Jenkins said.
