To cultivate resilience, establish and practice small rituals that you can practice daily to maintain perspective. For example, Michael Phelps, a world-renowned swimmer, used to listen to music prior to a race so he could get in the zone. Although others tried to distract him when he was practicing his ritual, he remained steadfast and focused. Ideas shared by women leaders around the world included rituals such as taking a one to two-minute break after 40 minutes of work; exercise; daily gratitude; and mindfulness.
