Tell us about your company’s mission and values
“To handle our customers’ products as if our name were on the label and our dime was on the table.” – Since its inception, our center values and ideals have been honesty and hard work, as they continue to be. Curry Warehouses is committed to providing the highest level of warehousing service. We strive to meet or exceed the expectations of our customers and all other interested parties. We achieve our quality goals through continuous improvement of our Quality Management System, active communication internally and externally, and no shortage of hard work. Our mission is to expand our company, providing excellent service to those who need it while creating fulfilling careers for our employees.

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?
The Columbus Chamber will be an invaluable resource for us as we develop in Columbus. We’re looking forward to participating in in-person events, and utilizing its ability to grow a network of potential collaborators, customers, and those who can educate us further on the area and what it has to offer.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
We stay engaged by having an outward view of the industry and how it changes, as well as constantly having an improvement-mindset. We join organizations that give us the resources to learn, visit facilities in person, as well as watch forums, news, join events, and monitor podcasts for updates. We have been consistently updating our management systems as well as functional technology over the course of recent years. We have centralized our company’s database, implemented RFID and in-house tablets, upgraded electric machinery such as forklifts, updated WMS software, and made other key changes. We have a quality management system following ISO 9001:2015 which allows us to be more flexible, accurate and efficient than our competitors and be able to live-load our containers on average twice as fast as expected by our current customers.

What is your company culture like?
Curry Warehouses has been a family company passed down over 100 years, and our company culture is one like a family’s. Although we’ve been sustaining in Parkersburg, we are always focused on growth and being adaptive, which is how we have sustained for such a long time. We want to offer the best of the best service, and expansion is next on our list. We are currently almost doubling the size of our operations at our Davisville location as well as coming to Columbus to offer our services.

What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?
A successful employee for us is an honest, hard-working one. A successful employee is also a fulfilled employee, who feels happy to do the work that they do with us. 100% of our employees are full-time employees making a living wage with exceptional benefits, and we believe that there is a mutual bond of responsibility for employer and employee to deliver success to one another.

What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?
Columbus is a fantastic place to do business because of its growth, geographic location, demographics, and market potential. Going outside of the usual market incurs risk, but we believe that in Columbus, with our work ethic and quality of service, we have exponential potential to succeed and grow into something that wouldn’t be possible elsewhere.
