Provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services
Based in Columbus, Ohio, FST Logistics first opened its doors in 1991 with 11 committed employees and a business model that solely focused on shipping and transportation efforts. FST Logistics now employs over 400 staff members at any given time and provides the best temperature-controlled transportation services and warehousing capabilities. We have over one million square feet of dry, refrigerated and frozen space. As an employee-owned company, we have a reputation of unsurpassed customer service and a clear knack for communication; our goal is to continue to grow by employing the best minds and talent the industry has to offer.
Tell us about your company’s mission and values
FST is a unique logistics company. We have an ESOP—or employee stock ownership plan. This gives employee owners a different perspective when they do their job. They all have a vested interest in the success of FST, and are more likely to go above and beyond. It not only benefits the employee and the company, but also the customer who gets unparalleled service.
What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?
We currently send employees to participate in the Elevate CBUS program and we also are actively involved with the Columbus Region Logistics Council.
How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
We stay engaged with trends in our industry through involvement with the Columbus Region Logistics Council. The information that flows through this group allows us to gain insight into important areas such as the labor market and growth of the region.
What is your company culture like?
At FST Logistics, we are looking for the GrowGetters—those special people who have an entrepreneurial mindset with a knack for seeing the bigger picture. As an employee-owned company, we are only as valuable as our people.
