Provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services
MyHouseCall is a proactive mobile health solution that improves access and affordability to primary care services. We provide concierge service through house and office calls in tandem with virtual care services. This reduces barriers to receiving care. We also provide more affordable care by cutting out the middleman (health insurance) and contracting directly with employers.
Tell us about your company’s mission and values
Our core mission is to democratize primary care services. The current primary care system is burdensome with a long wait times, unnecessary bureaucracy, and poor communication. MyHouseCall developed a scalable solution for primary care services that removes much of these obstacles, and drastically improves the healthcare experience.
What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?
We are very interested in networking with the Chamber in identifying members who are looking for a better way to access healthcare for their employees. A sick or injured workforce can really hurt company morale, and it’s productivity. We want to address these health disparities and help the company flourish. Our goal is for a healthier and happier workforce.
How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
We follow the latest healthcare data and what employers are saying their primary needs are in regards to their employee’s health. Healthcare is rapidly evolving to on demand and consumer centric care. We are moving away from the centralized monolith hospital settings to proactive approaches to care in the home, office, or generally on the go. Healthcare will continue to evolve and we realize we will need to stay nimble to continue to meet the needs of the modern patient.
What is your company culture like?
Our company culture first and foremost is rooted in making a change for the better in healthcare. Everyone on our team realizes the current system is broken and the only way forward is a new path. That’s why we are always open to new ideas, and actually stress the importance of disruption. We run these concepts through trial by fire and if impacts and improves patient health then this is a new paradigm we champion. Our culture is one of looking ahead and not behind.
What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?
We want our employees to be problems solvers. If you need to be given a formula or algorithm and just “follow the playbook” then your probably not the right fit for us. We want our people to look for problems or weak spots in a current system and improve upon it. There are already enough people doing the status quo in the broken healthcare system.
What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?
Columbus is centrally located with access to great amenities for various pursuits. From great local sports teams and great cultural venues in the downtown region to beautiful natural landscapes just a short drive away it’s compelling for both employers and employees. Additionally, it has lower overhead for businesses compared to many many coastal cities which makes it less costly to do business.
