So much has changed in the workplace in the last 18 months it is time to stop and assess all things people-related. Many companies are starting to offer different perks than they did prior to the pandemic. Some of this was brought on by the war on talent but others are brought on from the innovation that came out during the pandemic.

Many companies offer tuition reimbursement, but now some are offering tuition reimbursement for family members of the employee. This is a good retention strategy! Others are offering meal plans, airline tickets when the employee takes a vacation for the employee and a guest, restaurant gift cards, financial literacy & planning.

Here are a few more that you may not have heard about or thought of:

  • job swap for some pre-determined timeframe to learn another job
  • start and stop work when you want to – flexibility is attractive!
  • diaper subscriptions
  • summer camp assistance
  • home buying assistance
  • treadmill desks
  • message vouchers
  • elder care services
  • mindfulness services or apps – this is big for stressful careers/lives
  • sleeping pods
  • passes to a cultural event in the community
  • grocery deliver service
  • free books
  • gas cards

There are a lot of things you can do to keep it fun and interesting! Try something new and determine if it has impacted your employee engagement and retention results.
